Broadway has 41 theaters, centuries of drama, and secrets hiding in plain sight on every block. Few people know them better than Teale Dvornik.

Teale is a working Broadway dresser, a licensed New York City tour guide, and the author of History Hiding Around Broadway: Backstage Lore, Secrets & Surprises from New York's Famed Theater District. She has worked on productions including Wicked, Aladdin, MJ: The Musical, Come From Away, and A Beautiful Noise, and currently dresses at the Metropolitan Opera.

On this tour, Teale will lead our group through the heart of Broadway, sharing the stories, legends, and lore that most theatergoers walk right past. She weaves together architectural history, backstage gossip, and Broadway mythology in a way that's equal parts educational and fun.

We'll pop into a nearby spot for drinks and snacks nearby after the tour so we can discuss everything we learned. Field Trip events are intentionally small, so it's easy to actually meet people and have a real conversation.

Where does the tour meet?

We'll start at the New Amsterdam theater, and work our way up the Theater District from there.

Yes. Most attendees come solo, looking to meet other people who love theater around NYC.

How long does the event last?

The tour itself runs approximately 2 hours, and we'll hang out for about an hour afterward. Wear comfortable shoes.

Why this event?

Teale Dvornik has spent her career on the inside of Broadway: dressing performers, managing costumes during live shows, and leading tours. Her book just came out to much praise. This is a rare chance to see the Theater District through the eyes of someone who has actually lived it, in a group small enough to ask real questions.
