Who We Are
Field Trip is an NYC-based membership community that organizes curated group outings to theater and cultural events. To run these experiences, we collect and use certain personal information, described below.
The Services are intended for adults. Many of our events take place at venues that serve alcohol, and our Services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

- Account and profile information: your name, email address, phone number, neighborhood or general location, and the theater and arts preferences you share with us.
- Payment information: when you pay for an event or membership, your payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems. We may retain limited records such as the last four digits, transaction amounts, and dates.
- Event information: the events you RSVP to or attend, along with any dietary, accessibility, or seating preferences you provide for a specific outing.
- Community information: if you use our community features, the preferences and details you provide so we can group or connect you with other members. Some of this information is shared with other members as part of the experience (see "How We Share Information" below).
- Communications: messages you send us, survey responses, and your preferences for email, SMS, and push notifications.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data: how you interact with our website and app, including device type, operating system, app version, and event interactions. We collect some of this through third-party analytics tools.
- Push notification tokens: if you opt in to push notifications, we collect the token needed to deliver them.

How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account and membership;
- organize, curate, and run events, including grouping members for outings;
- power community plans and member-to-member connection features;
- process payments and send receipts and related notices;
- send you the communications you have signed up for, including event announcements, on-sale alerts, and reminders;
- respond to your questions and provide support;
- understand how the Services are used so we can improve them; and
- protect the safety and integrity of the Services and our community.
We rely on your consent for marketing communications and for features like push notifications and our community features, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: companies that help us operate, including our payment processor, email and SMS providers, push notification and app infrastructure providers, analytics tools, and hosting services. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
- Other members: if you participate in community features, certain profile or preference details may be visible to other members so the experience can work. We will make clear what is shared before you opt in.
- Venues, producers, and partners: we do not share your attendee information with venues, producers, or partners by default. If this is ever different for a specific event, we will notify the members involved and ask for permission first.
- Legal and safety reasons: when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Field Trip, our members, or others.
- Business transfers: if Field Trip is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your information.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: you can review and update your profile information in the app or by contacting us.
- Marketing opt-out: you can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link or by replying to any email, reply STOP to SMS messages, or turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information by contacting [email protected]. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as recordkeeping and fraud prevention.
California residents: Under California law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
