Other Desert Cities + Happy Hour
Julia Louis-Dreyfus makes her Broadway debut alongside Ed Harris, Allison Janney, Lily Rabe, and Joe Keery in the starriest play of the fall.
Other Desert Cities + Happy Hour
When Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities premiered in 2011, it became one of the most celebrated American plays of its decade: a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, nominated for the Tony for Best Play, with Judith Light winning the Tony for Best Featured Actress.
Fifteen years later it's back on Broadway for the first time, and the cast is almost absurd. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is making her Broadway debut, joined by Ed Harris, Oscar winner Allison Janney, Lily Rabe, and Joe Keery of Stranger Things, also making his Broadway debut, all under the direction of Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey.
The play itself is a Christmas Eve powder keg. In the sunlit Palm Springs home of a politically connected family, a daughter returns with a memoir that threatens to expose the explosive truth they've kept hidden. Cocktails are poured, zingers fly, and two hours later you understand why this play has been called the great American family drama of its generation.
We'll meet for drinks and snacks nearby before the show, then settle in together. Field Trip events are intentionally small, so it's easy to actually meet people and have a real conversation.

Where are the seats?
We'll all be seated together at the Hudson Theatre, one of Broadway's most beautiful houses, with its original Tiffany glass interiors from 1903. We're in the side mezzanine, rows G-J.
Do people usually come alone?
Yes. Most attendees come solo, looking to meet other people who love theater around NYC.
How long does the event last?
We'll meet about an hour before the show for drinks. The show itself runs approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.
Why this show?
This is the hottest ticket of the fall season: a Pulitzer finalist play returning to Broadway for the first time, with five of the best actors alive sharing one stage for only 16 weeks.
