In The Heights + Happy Hour
Lin-Manuel Miranda's four-time Tony winner returns to New York in a brand new City Center staging.
In The Heights + Happy Hour
In the Heights is the show that started it all. Before Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes told the story of Washington Heights, and it won four 2008 Tony Awards including Best Musical, plus a Grammy for its cast album.
Now it's finally back in New York: City Center chose it as its Annual Gala Presentation, a brand new staging directed by David Mendizábal (Mexodus). Demand has been intense.
The show unfolds over three hot July days in Washington Heights, where bodega owner Usnavi and his neighbors chase their dreams while figuring out what home really means in a neighborhood that's changing fast. It's hip-hop, salsa, and classic Broadway all at once, and it's impossible to sit still through.
We'll meet for drinks and snacks nearby before the show, then settle in together. Field Trip events are intentionally small, so it's easy to actually meet people and have a real conversation.

Where are the seats?
We're all together in the Mezzanine, rows C, D, and E.
Do people usually come alone?
Yes. Most attendees come solo, looking to meet other people who love theater around NYC.
How long does the event last?
We'll meet about an hour before the show for drinks. The show itself runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes with one intermission.
Why this show?
In the Heights hasn't had a major New York production since it closed on Broadway, and this City Center run is a genuine event: the venue extended it a full week before it even opened, and several ticket programs sold out immediately.
